About our Members

1st January 2017 By GerryBurke

Older Christians are probably the greatest underutilised resource in UK churches.

In some churches considerable resources are spent on children, youth and young families, while little or nothing is done to understand and respond to the needs of older Christians. We would like to change that and each additional member makes that more possible.

Our members belong to all the major Christian denominations.  A questionnaire was circulated to members in the autumn of 2012.  One third of the members replied.   The results showed a fair amount of frustration and a great deal of honesty, but an enduring sense of hope and resilience.  Overwhelmingly, our members told us that they wanted to maintain their involvement with their local congregations, even when they could no longer physically be present on Sundays or other special occasions.  This is one of the greatest challenges for the Churches: how to make sure that those who have kept everything going for decades are not forgotten.

Please read the results of the survey here Membership Survey 2012.  If this makes you want to join us, go to Join or Renew Membership and follow the simple steps to membership.

Reflect and Pray

Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth.  Lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust.  Lead me from hope to love, from war to peace.  Let peace fill my heart, our world, our universe.
