After a bit of a hiatus, we are looking forward to restarting our Conference Calls this autumn. These online events offer opportunities to consider a topic related to faith and ageing, introduced by a speaker, and then to engage in a discussion around the issues raised.
Our speaker on Tuesday 21st October at 10.30am will be Josefiina Kalliokoski who is Prisons Ministry Manager for the Salvation Army. Part of her remit covers CAMEO, “Come And Meet Each Other”, groups in prisons. These are primarily targeted for older prisoners, who are the fastest growing prison demographic.
Then on Tuesday 9th December at 7.00pm (Note the different time!) our speaker will be Dr Helen Hindle. Helen’s Ph.D. explored the notion of community from the perspective of older people living in residential care homes, and she has developed this into thinking about developing a theology of liberation from this standpoint. Both should lead to informative and stimulating conversations, to book a place, email secretary@christiansonageing.org.uk
